Lexus LFA Reviews

Every driver who has test driven the Lexus LFA has praised the amazing and awe-aspiring performance of the car. The LFA is an exotic two seater, front engine, rear wheel drive coupe. The major component used in the body and chassis are carbon fibre composite; that is why the car has a curb weight of only 3263 pounds. The lightweight 4.8L V10 engine has been placed as far back as possible. This compact 553hp engine generates a head spinning 9000rpm in 6/10th of a second. The accelerator is extremely sensitive and even if the driver just twitches his toes, the engine rpm climbs instantly. You must plant your left foot firmly on the floor to control the acceleration.

The LFA has an unparalleled low centre of gravity of 17 ¾", right under the steering wheel. This makes the LFA stick to the road surface, and there is very little chance of over or under steering the car. If you happen to over steer and the rear wheels spin out, the car corrects it by itself, as if there are two assistants steering the rear wheels; and all this when your speedometer is in three digits. The ceramic brakes work extremely well, and the steering feedback is positive even though it is electric power steering.

The LFA has been designed to create maximum down force, and the Gurney flap comes into play once you cross the 50 mph marks. The six speed automatic sequential gearbox, with steering mounted paddles, is smooth and easy to operate; in fact, the gear shift is extremely fast. Take the car to 50mph, place it in sixth gear, press down on the throttle and you will cross the 100mph in the blink of an eye. That is how fast and smooth the car is.

Push the rpm to the redline limit and the console display changes colour and the car starts emitting warning beeps. The cockpit is designed to resemble that of a jet fighter and the seats are supportive and comfortable.

The LFA has been driven on race tracks and on normal roads; its drive has been excellent under all conditions. There are four driving modes for the driver to select from, which are normal, sports, automatic and wet. No one wants to potter around the town in such a lovely super car. It is a car that is meant to be driven on the German autobahns and open roads.

The sound from the triple exhaust resembles that of a formula1, which adds to the thrill of the car. Lexus engineers have been so weight conscious that even the sound system is a specially made lightweight unit.

The Lexus LFA team has done an outstanding job in designing and building the LFA. It may not be the fastest car in the market of super cars, but it is definitely one of the best built cars in this class. Every person who has reviewed and test driven the LFA has praised its bewildering performance, stability, agility and excellent build quality. The Lexus LFA can be regarded as the most anticipated and awaited car for the year 2011. The hype is all around even though the car is not out yet. The entry-luxury Lexus ES 350 is a comfortable, compliant sedan that boasts the right amount of luxury, performance, safety and size without being either garish or boring—and without breaking the bank.

For 2010, the ES 350 gets a fresh face: new headlamps, grille, grille surround and front bumper with integrated fog lamps flanking a revised lower intake, plus redesigned tail lamps, chrome body side moldings, and new turn signals integrated into the outside mirrors. Also a slew of new features, including Lexus Enform and Safety Connect, a new security and convenience telematics suite similar to GM's ubiquitous OnStar system.

The only available powertrain is Lexus' 272-hp, DOHC, 24-valve 3.5-liter aluminum V6, with efficiency enhancing Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), coupled to a 6-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). This super-smooth automatic provides quick kick-down response and sequential manual shifting for those of us who sometimes like to manage our own shift timing.

As expected in a midsize luxo-sedan, the interior is rich and feature-filled, with average space for the class: plenty of room up front for the driver and primary passenger and reasonable real estate for two, or even three, adults in back. Also as expected is Lexus-level craftsmanship, enhanced for 2010 with standard leather-trimmed seating, bright Optitron gauges, premium wood, polished metal and leather accents. The three-spoke wood and leather steering wheel with handy audio, trip computer and information display controls is especially nice, as is the (available) large, easy to use color navigation touch screen.

Also standard are SmartAccess keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, 10-way power front seats (with driver-seat memory), power tilt/telescope steering wheel adjustment, rain-sensing wipers, heated outside mirrors, an illuminated entry system with exterior and interior puddle lamps and even illuminated front cup holders. The standard audio system has a six-disc CD changer, automatic sound leveling, an integrated satellite radio receiver (with a complimentary 90-day trial subscription) plus iPod/USB connectivity (in the console), Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and music streaming.

The available Ultra-Luxury Package includes a panorama glass roof, perforated "semi-aniline" leather seating, a power rear sunshade, front passenger seat memory, HID Active Front Lighting (AFS) that follows the steering, that beautiful wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, and exclusive "liquid graphite-finish" alloy wheels. The long list of stand-alone options includes the HID AFS, heated and ventilated front seats and Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects close to either bumper. It alerts the driver and shows distances to objects in the multi-information display.

The optional touch-screen nav system uses "Voice Command" casual-language voice recognition, which comprehends conversational commands for control of audio, climate, and navigation. It also comes with a rear back-up camera, integrates control of personalized settings and has Bluetooth phonebook download. An optional 10-channel, 300-watt, 14-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system is available with navigation, and DVD movies can be viewed on the nav screen when the car is in park and the parking brake is engaged.

Also new are available-by-subscription Lexus Enform and Safety Connect. Safety Connect, available on any ES 350 with or without navigation, offers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance (SOS) and Enhanced Roadside Assistance, which adds GPS data to Lexus' roadside service. Lexus Enform, available on nav-equipped vehicles, adds Destination Assist and eDestination.

Destination Assist agents, available 24/7 via on-board cellular equipment, can help find an address, a specific business or type of business (gas station, theater, restaurant) and send coordinates to the nav system for routing. With eDestination, you can save and sort destinations online and send them to your car for download. Lexus Enform also offers subscriptions to XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather and XM Sports and Stocks.

Standard Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control integrates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). A new VSC cut-off switch is handy if you're trying to rock the car out of deep snow, mud or sand.

The 10-airbag Supplemental Restraint System includes advanced front and front seat-mounted side bags, rear seat-mounted side bags, full-length side-curtain bags and driver and front passenger knee bags. An optional Pre-Collision System (PCS) includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which maintains a pre-set distance from vehicles ahead. If the PCS senses an impending collision, it pre-initializes Brake Assist, tightens the front seat belts, and Active Braking will automatically apply the brakes (up to 0.3 g) if the driver fails to react.

I'm a big fan of big cars and when size matters there's no better choice than a used Lexus LS saloon. It's big, bold and very generously equipped. It's also an easy choice because the LS range consists of just one model, a monster 4.3L V8. That's not to say you miss out - the LS is peppered with all the features you could wish for, from leather seats, satellite navigation and even air suspension. What a car!

When you first drive the Lexus LX you could be forgiven for thinking you'd forgotten to start the engine. It's so very quiet; it's the last word in refinement. No wind noise and no rattles, due to the exemplary build quality. You're not even troubled by road noise since the excellent air suspension takes all the pain for you. You're left with the feeling that the car's gliding, it's a wonderful drive.

Lexus, being Japanese, has a fantastic reputation for being built well and hardly ever going wrong. That makes buying a used Lexus a pretty safe bet, and if you can get your hands on an LS for a decent price you'll be very well rewarded. It's an extremely comfortable car to drive, it's got all the gadgets you could want, fitted as standard, and it's highly unlikely to have any problems. It's hard to find a reason why you wouldn't want to own this car.

The LS is an especially good choice if you like to feel you've got lots of space around you, since the interior feels massive. Passengers will find the space in the back more than adequate, too.

If you're looking for a large, luxury car to cruise around in, I can't recommend the Used Lexus LS highly enough. It combines everything that Lexus does best and packages it up perfectly.

Launched in 2009, as a successor to the RX 400h, Lexus RX 450h builds on the success of the first hybrid SUV of the company. Visually similar to the RX 350, the Lexus RX 450h has a few of its own unique styling features that make it more prominent, as compared to its previous models and several other hybrid cars.

As it is a hybrid car, it contains a double engine system, which is called the Lexus Hybrid Drive. This mileage is much better than older versions of Lexus and other hybrid cars.

This improved form of hybrid cars also features a new, uniquely designed double-wishbone rear suspension that provides an exceptional agility and control. Its distinctive structure also allows for five percent more cargo volume and easier loading. The front McPherson strut geometry was optimised in Lexus 450h; it complements the new rear suspension and provides excellent dexterity and ride comfort.

The Lexus 450h has a very inspiring interior. Its internal characteristics are extremely user friendly with very easy and padded seats, Bluetooth service and an excellent system of direction finding. Its exhaust-heat recovery system is very helpful in decreasing its engine warm-up. The car has cooled exhaust gas-recirculation system for an enhanced fuel economy. The safety system for RX 450h is amazingly good like its anti-lock brakes, visibility enhancing devices and pre-cooling system that help a lot in making your journey safer.

The new RX has a long list of high-tech gadgets, featuring an all-new Remote Touch controller. Remote Touch is comparable to a computer mouse, because it is positioned on the centre console. RX 450h will also feature the new navigation system, which includes a casual language voice-recognition system that acknowledges conversational commands. It also features XM satellite-radio capability.

As one Lexus' most popular models, there will be plenty of drivers that will be happy to see a revamped Lexus ES 350 coming to showrooms later this month. While it may not be a full redesign, the updating certainly brings needed enhancements.

Among the enhancements to the Lexus ES 350 include redesigned side mirrors, turn signals, front grill, molding along the side, rain sensing wipers, and new headlamps just to name few. Pohanka Lexus says there will also be four new colors to choose from.

The interior of the Lexus ES 350 was not ignored for the new update says Richmond Lexus Service, and it includes additional storage compartments, trim options, and seat memory on the driver's side. Perhaps one of the most exciting new additions according to Virginia Lexus dealers is the Lexus Enform with Safety Connect which is a telematics system much like GM's OnStar, which provides emergency telecommunications and other useful information. Powering the new ES is a familiar 3.5-liter V6 which producing 272 horsepower and 254 lb ft of torque mated to a six speed automatic.

Pricing for the updated 2010 Lexus ES 350 begins at $35,675. Look for the ES in showrooms in the coming weeks.
